The Joshua Green Historical Building was built in 1912 and had gone unchanged for nearly 100 years. Major renovations were needed to offer modern amenities and technology improvements to the building. As the design-build Electrical Contractor, PRIME teamed with other trades to renovate to current standards, and restore its original luster. The project involved a complete demolition of the interior and restoration of the terra cotta exterior. Office spaces were opened up to accommodate larger tenants, and all retail storefronts were replaced with energy efficient lighting and modern finishes. PRIME’s complete scope included: Shell & Core Infrastructure, New Seattle City Light Vault, New Electrical Distribution, New Life Safety Systems, New Energy Efficient Lighting, Lighting Control Systems, New Access Control Systems and New Voice & Data.
PRIME was able to effectively coordinate the renovation with The City of Seattle’s Historical Society and due to the success of the project, the Joshua Green Historical Building was awarded two prestigious awards: the Historic Seattle 2010 Preservation Award for Best Rehabilitation Project and the NAIOP 2009 Office Redevelopment of the Year Award.
