Fisher Plaza

Fisher Plaza has been one of Seattle’s most prestigious Data Center addresses for over a decade. The two tower, central courtyard design is very characteristic of modern architecture in the Northwest. PRIME was invited to join the Sellen Construction team at time of original construction and currently maintains every aspect of the electrical and systems infrastructure. The campus boasts long time tenants KOMO, Internap and Fisher Corporate headquarters.

The East Building housing KOMO, required a complete emergency backup system to assure KOMO is able to remain on the air regardless of the situation. This system includes the installation of (4) 1500 kilowatt generators and extensive normal power and emergency distribution. With KOMO being primarily a broadcasting facility, there were numerous considerations as to power quality, circuit routing and sizing, as well as upgraded security and life safety systems throughout.

The west Building was designed as an N+1 multi-tenant co-location facility. The power requirements were immense with this building containing 33,000amps in distributable power. The distribution had to be fully backed up requiring the installation of (2) megawatt generators with the capacity to add up to four more. The flexibility in distribution, called for in a multi-tenant data center environment, required considerable coordination and forethought in the design and installation of the electrical distribution.

We are proud to state Prime met and exceeded all of the challenges and complexities presented by this Premier Project. We continue to be the contractor of record for the facility and take our responsibility for uninterrupted power.
