To provide space for their growing Bio-Tech Research and Development departments, Seattle’s Children’s Hospital purchased the Life Science Buildings that comprise the downtown city block of Stewart Place. They renamed the complex Children’s Research Institute and plan to occupy the space in a multi phased process over the next few years.
Children’s wanted to team with solution oriented construction partners that had extensive Bio Tech/Laboratory experience. Based on these requirements BN Builders was selected as the General Contractor and Prime Electric as their Design Assist electrical partner. Prime provided design assist services in support of AEI, the electrical engineer of record. These services included design input into the selection of materials and equipment, MEP coordination and preparation of a comprehensive start up and commissioning plan.
Prime’s ability to plan ahead and pre-fabricate many of the electrical components helped the MEP coordination as well as the overall schedule.
